Valerie Oben | Foxboro Consulting
Valerie Oben is an integrated marketing, promotion and business development leader as well as the founder of Foxboro Consulting. Valerie has a reputation in brand business development in the consumer and business-to-business sectors. She has over fifteen years of extensive project management experience which includes marketing research, product launches, leading-edge creative execution, and cost-effective implementation.
Valerie works closely with marketing and sales organizations on communication strategies and tactics that increase awareness of products including events/tradeshows, newsletters, sponsorships and activities associated with product launches. Her industry expertise is in banking, financial services, online publishing, e-commerce, cable, telecommunications and consumer packaged goods
Prior to founding Foxboro Consulting, Valerie was Senior Vice President/Group Head of the Services Industry practice at Marketing Corporation of American (MCA), a marketing consulting firm. As an equity partner, her responsibilities were to grow the service industry business and define growth strategies, profit direction and company policies. Over the years her many clients have included MasterCard, Advance Publications (division of Conde Naste), 20th Century Fox, Chase Manhattan Bank, Los Angeles Times and Newsday, Knight Ridder Digital (Real Cities), AT&T, Gatorade, and Kraft. At MCA, she earned numerous honors including BMA Best of Multi-Media Creative Award for Excellence and PMAA Reggies for Gatorade and Kraft.
Valerie also worked for Covidea, a joint partnership with AT&T and Chemical Bank. She was on the task force that formed the partnership and created the business plan. She was next appointed the Group Manager for Marketing and Product Development where she launched the New York Times’ first online service, “New York Pulse” and AT&T’s Online 800 Directory.
Valerie has also held Product Management positions at General Electric and Colgate-Palmolive in the food preparation appliances and household products divisions.
Valerie holds an MBA with Distinction in Marketing and Finance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a B.A., Summa Cum Laude, in Management and Consumer Behavior from Michigan State University and has completed the General Electric Strategic Planning and Product Planning Training Programs. She also has been an Adjunct Professor, College of Professional Studies at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
